Who is eligible?
The Certificate Program in Patient Safety and Quality is open to faculty, trainees, and leaders in nursing, pharmacy, allied health, and institutional quality and safety departments. Though the program was originally created for participants from Seattle Children’s Hospital, the VA Puget Sound, and the UW Medicine entities, we now have limited space available for participants from any institution.
What is the commitment?
Participants devote approximately eight hours per month towards the program (approximately a 0.05% FTE commitment for eight months). This time committment is comprised of five mandatory full day in-person conferences (held at the UW Medicine South Lake Union campus), conference calls, small group meetings, and project-related work. Applicants must confirm that they can attend all five in-person conferences. These sessions are mandatory- an absence from one session will result in an incomplete course with no certificate issued. Applicants must demonstrate adequate financial support and approved release time.
Save the dates now! The 2018-2019 mandatory daylong in-person sessions will be held on October 10th, 2018, December 5th, 2018, February 6th, 2019, April 24th, 2019, and May 22nd, 2019.
What is the tuition?
Participants from UW Medicine, the VA, or SCH paying with a UW budget number: $1,950
Participants from UW Medicine, the VA, or SCH participants paying without a UW budget number: $2,254.20 ($1950 + 15.6% overhead charge)
Participants from any entity outside SCH, the VA, or UW Medicine: $4,046 ($3,500 + 15.6% overhead charge)
These rates are preliminary and may change slightly once approved. Please note that SCH and VA budgets are not considered UW budget numbers and are subject to the overhead charge. Tuition is non-refundable and due at or before the first in-person session. Breakfast and lunch during the five in-person sessions are included. Transportation and parking expenses are not provided.
